Letter to the Editor

Sir: Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), a preoccupation with imagined ugliness, has been better characterized and described in recent years. Here we describe a variant (BDD by proxy) seen in two cases that involve a shift from concern over personal appearance to distress over others’ appearance.
