Gratitude

Article Abstract

By now it is a cliché to say that the world changed—permanently—on September 11, 2001. But from the tragedy, turmoil, and trauma, the rage, and the grieving reemerged positive feelings, often dormant in a complacent society: spirits of altruism, community, a purpose beyond oneself. At this holiday time of year, we are all the more conscious of our blessings, and grateful for them. Highest among these are the people we care for and who care for us— family, friends, and coworkers.
