Letter to the Editor

Sir: In light of the current popularity of the serotonin hypothesis
of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), along with
the fact that behavior therapy effectively reduces obsessions
and compulsions and normalizes cerebral glucose metabolism
in OCD, Dr. Baer recently suggested that behavior therapy is a
form of endogenous serotonin therapy.
