Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

The first is "the heavy tome," the encyclopedic, multiauthored reference book that sets the standard in clinical practice and knowledge in a discipline. The second is the single-authored collection of "pearls" that are often particularly valuable to those starting in a new field.
