Article Abstract

The history of the discovery of cholinergic deficit in Alzheimer’s disease is briefly reviewed, focusingon the cholinergic basal forebrain. The anatomy of the structure is discussed, and the clinicalimplications of pathology in this population of nerve cells are presented.
