Article Abstract

Letter to the Editor

Sir: We are pleased to reply to the letter sent to you by Dr. Figley and colleagues concerning the issue of treatment selection for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as reported in the Expert Consensus Guidelines. The authors of the letter expressed concerns that the Guidelines will cause misinterpretation of the empirical status of eye movement dissociation and reprocessing (EMDR) because this treatment was not included among the first-line treatments for PTSD.
