Published: April 1, 2002

Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

This concise and clearly written book is, as its title suggests, an excellent primer for students and mental health professionals at the early stages of their careers. The author has designed it for this group, and it offers a short, extremely useful guide for understanding the principles and practicalities of doing psychotherapy. Topics are basic and cover the essence of what the beginning psychotherapist needs to understand.
