Article Abstract

From our regular book review column.

The recently published (second edition) of Practice Guideline for the Treatment of Patients With Major Depressive Disorder by the American Psychiatric Association was developed from a review of the current literature to synthesize a bestevidence approach for the treatment of depression. It is both an overview and a survey of the current standard of care for evaluation and treatment. While the outline format of the text is clear, as are the figures and tables, the book could benefit from the inclusion of an index.
