Shigehiro Hirose

Published: September 30, 2000

Article Abstract

Letter to the Editor

Sir: Risperidone has been reported to be effective in ameliorating
the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. However, there
have been no reports describing the treatment of simple schizophrenia
with risperidone. The concept of simple schizophrenia
has been considered controversial, and research criteria for
simple deteriorative disorder (simple schizophrenia) are included
in Appendix B of DSM-IV, "Criteria Sets and Axes Provided
for Further Study."
