Article Abstract

Letter to the Editor

Sir: The antipsychotic risperidone has been available in the United States since 1994. It has been widely used, as studies have shown that extrapyramidal symptoms are less common than with other antipsychotics, and that the incidence of side effects causing discontinuation is low. Risperidone was also shown to be effective and have minimal side effects in adolescents and children.
