Article Abstract

Because this piece has no abstract, we have provided for your benefit the first 3 sentences of the full text.

Sir: We thank Dr. Quitkin and colleagues from ColumbiaUniversity for their comments regarding our article.1 As wepoint out in the article, the investigators from Columbia Universitywere the pioneers in advancing our understanding of thetiming of the antidepressant response. The findings from ourmeta-analysis, however, largely contradict their delayed antidepressantresponse theory, and Dr. Quitkin and colleagues rejectour findings after arguing that the meta-analysis we conductedwas "inappropriate."’ ‹’ ‹
