Article Abstract

Remission is considered the goal of depression treatment. However, painful physical symptoms can impair patients’ functioning and impede depression remission. Understanding the synergic relationship between painful physical symptoms and depression is the first step in comprehensively treating patients with these conditions and helping them to achieve remission from depression.
